FISD Agriculture Courses

IMPORTANT CHANGES TO VET MED PREREQUISITES!

If you are a incoming freshman for the 19-20 school year, in order to take Veterinary Medical Applications your junior year, you must have Survey of Agriculture, Food, & Natural Resources PLUS 1 credit of the any of the following: Livestock Production, Small Animal Management, or Equine Science. So you could take Survey of Agriculture, Food, & Natural Resources your freshman year, and then either Livestock Production (1 credit) your sophomore year OR Survey of Agriculture, Food, & Natural Resources your freshman year and Equine Science (.5 credit) AND Small Animal Management (.5).

If you are an incoming freshman for the 18-19 school year and you plan to following the Vet Med pathway and receive the endorsement, your four year plan should look like this:
18-19 | Freshman Year | Survey of Agriculture, Food, & Natural Resources | 1 credit
19-20 | Sophomore Year | Livestock Production 1 credit OR Small Animal Management WITH Equine Science to total 1 credit
20-21 | Junior Year | Vet Med @ the CTEC
21-22 | Senior Year | Practicum in Vet Med (Internship)
