Wakeland FFA Letterman Jackets

The students of the Wakeland FFA Chapter are eligible for an FFA letterman jacket if the following criteria must be met. The student is responsible for purchasing his/her own letterman jacket after receiving approval from the campus FFA advisor(s).  Additional patches may be purchased by the students, but should be approved by the advisor(s) prior to the purchase of the jacket.

Applicants must meet all the following criteria: 

1. The student must be a member in good standing with the Wakeland FFA and abide by the FFA/Agriscience Department Code of Conduct, as outlined in the Wakeland FFA/Agricultural Science Department Handbook.

2. The student must have attended 75% of all club meetings, unless excused by the FFA advisor(s).

3. The student must have participated in two (2) organized FFA community service projects prior to applying for a jacket.

4. The student must be classified as a junior and a must have been member of the FFA for a minimum of four (4) semesters.

5. The student must have received their Greenhand and Chapter FFA Degrees.

6. The student must have participated in all FFA Fundraisers during their membership in the Wakeland FFA Chapter.

8. The FFA advisor(s) must recommend the student for a letter jacket.

Applicants must meet at least one (1) of the following criteria: 

1. The student must participate on one or more CDE teams and must advance to the State Level as a team or place 10th or better as an individual.

2. The student must place first (1st), second (2nd), or third (3rd) in the Area V Leadership Development Event/Contest.

3. The student must be selected first (1st) in a State Proficiency Event.

4. The student must win a National FFA Award or receive individual or special recognition from the National FFA Organization

5. The student is elected to a District, Area, State, or National Office.

6. The student must have received their Lone Star FFA Degree

7. The student’s project (which is entered through the Wakeland FFA Chapter) is selected as Champion or Reserve Champion at a major Livestock Show (Southwestern Exposition -Ft. Worth, San Antonio Livestock Exposition -San Antonio, Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo - Houston, State Fair of Texas- Dallas)

8. The student must complete 100 community service hours.  (Hours to be approved by an FFA Advisor)

9. The student must participate in the Ag Ambassadors Program or attend WLC.

10. The student must participate in the District Prepared, Extemporaneous, or Soil and Water Speaking Contests.

Letterman Jacket Approval

If you feel you have met the qualifications to earn your FFA letterman jacket, please complete the following Google form by October 1, 2023 for fall semester or February 1, 2024 for spring semester to receive approval from the campus FFA Advisor(s).
